Coronavirus Planning and Preparation

coronavirus information
Wednesday, July 8

We have closed our lobby to reduce the number of face-to-face interactions between clients and staff as much as possible. We do not take this decision lightly, but we feel it is an important step in preventing the spread of COVID-19. We still have staff available to help over the phone, via email or online - call 402.476.4357, email info@cfpin.org or message us on Facebook. We continue to distribute food and diapers in a drive-thru format.

New Hours for Distribution at CFPIN
Mondays: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Tuesdays: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m.
Wednesdays: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fridays: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Food distribution is limited to 1 visit per week. Diapers are limited to 1 distribution per month.

For more information on the drive-thru process, see our rules and reminders here. The Center may delay or close the drive-thru in severe weather (including thunderstorms, high winds, heavy rain, etc.). Please keep an eye on our social media or the front page of our website for any last-minute updates.

Neighborhood Food Distributions

The Center and Food Bank of Lincoln are dedicated to serving everyone through this national emergency. To conserve resources and keep everyone safe, we are centralizing the Neighborhood Food distributions. Center distributions previously held at F Street Community Center, Fourth Presbyterian Church, Oak Lake Church, and The Bay are now served at the Center's facility at 3901 N. 27th Street during normal distribution hours: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you cannot make it to the Center during our distribution hours, services are still available from other Food Bank partner organizations and the Food Bank itself.

Donations

Please, donate here. Food insecurity doesn't go away during an emergency, and we have seen a marked increase in need as the economic effects of this pandemic ripple through our community. Many families, including more than 2,000 new ones, depend on the Center to have adequate food at home, and we will continue to serve our community as long as possible during this national emergency.

At this time, we cannot accept donations of any household goods or clothing. We do not have the staff to process these items, no do we have a means of distributing them. If you have items to donate, consider contacting the People's City Mission Donation Center.

We are still accepting diaper donationsConsider buying diapers from an online retailer and having them shipped directly to the Center at 3901 N. 27th Street #1, Lincoln, NE 68521. If you cannot have them shipped, call 402.476.4357 to setup a no-contact donation. We truly appreciate your contribution to keeping Lincoln's babies clean and healthy.

Note: We have not and will not ask volunteers to call or go door-to-door asking for donations.

Volunteering

While we truly appreciate the dedication and support of our volunteers, we cannot accept your assistance at this time. The best way to assist our efforts right now is to make a monetary donation, if you are able. Thank you. We look forward to welcoming you back when the threat of COVID-19 has passed. You will be missed.
