Donors opened their hearts and wallets

thank you
Monday, August 1

More than 450 generous donors remembered the Center during this year's Give to Lincoln event. The Center received more than $160,000 in donations and matching funds this May, making it one of our most successful Give to Lincoln events since the giving day's creation in 2012.

"I cannot thank our generous donors and supporters enough," said former Executive Director Chris Funk. "It's been a challenging year, with inflation and increasing gas prices. But our donors still opened their wallets and hearts to support those in need."

"I've always loved Lincoln, and the 2022 Give to Lincoln event is a perfect example of why," said Macala Carter, the new executive director of the Center. "Even as prices were increasing, our community came together to raise more than $8 million for local nonprofit organizations. Amazing!"

Give to Lincoln funds will support the Center's various services, including food and diaper distributions, the Care Room and educational programs like Opening Doors and English Language Learning classes.
