Generosity ripples indefinitely

Cuban actress, Heda Bejar wrote, “The fragrance always remains in the hand that gives the rose.” I have this quote in my email signature and on the nameplate for my office. It’s a reminder that generosity is fluid, and its ripples continue indefinitely. I witness this phenomenon every day. Contributions come in the door and leave through the learning that happens here, the food that will become someone’s meal, or the diapers that keep a baby dry and comfortable.

And those are not the most amazing things that can happen with your donation. Nope. Those dollars can be seen in a former client who found a great job thanks to skills training. They can be witnessed in a teenager who had a full belly and was able to ace college admission tests that can help her earn a scholarship. And they can be witnessed through young parents who are able to shed some stress and guilt by choosing the perfect gift for their children at our Toyland event.

You, gentle reader, are the rose bearer. You have my deepest gratitude. I am privileged to see the affects of your gift every day. May the beauty of your kindness linger for you, too.

Warmest regards,
