Our hallways are bustling with activity again, now that people are coming back into the building. The din of voices is the familiar background music I was accustomed to before we closed our doors. It’s still not “normal,” though. We’re wearing masks and maintaining space between groups of people seeking our services. The public health emergency continues and with it, our work.
It cannot be said often enough: we simply could not have provided food and diapers for nearly 6,000 families last year without your help.
This year’s Give to Lincoln Day was another humbling experience. You, once again, opened your heart and your wallet and gave generously. The influx of donations helps us keep up with our community’s need. We continue to face new challenges as the families we help struggle to regain footing.
Now, the virus is threatening another surge, and we have to be prepared for whatever comes our way. Know that you are vital. Together, we can face the future with confidence, ready to help in any way we can.
