Household Needs and The Care Room

Household Emergencies

Have you recently experienced severe hardship, such as a flood or fire?

Individuals or families in the community who experience severe hardships such as fire, flood, tornado, or other dramatic loss of a home or household essentials, can call the Center for People in Need between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.  A staff member will identify items available in the Center’s warehouse, and connect the caller to many other resources in the community that might fill in the gaps.

The Care Room

Do you have trouble affording things to help keep you clean and healthy?

The Center for People in Need's Care Room can provide occasional replacement of common health and cleaning products such as personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies, or other household needs. Diapers are sometimes -- but not always -- available.

If you have a Center ID card, you can visit the Care Room six times per year and receive ten items per visit.
